Monarch butterfly

Found this poor thing still alive (barely) on the beach at Wildwood. Took him back to the hotel with hopes he'd make it, but he didn't. He's now in a jar on my desk.

Carolina Wren

The bird my parents found stuck in a mousetrap in their basement... The same bird I left in TJ & Elise's freezer. Ahem, sorry, dudes.
And it didn't have eyes, fyi.

Sperm Whale

Figured I may as well post this, too, just because marine mammals are great.

Manatee

Did this yesterday just for fun.
One day I will swim with the manatees!

Oh, deer

Found these during the move. Had to scan them in sections because they are on big paper. This may have been from my PCAD days...?

Grey Fox

Little somethin' somethin' I did on this rainy Tuesday. Not happy with how his face turned out, but I used ink soooo it will not be changing anytime soon.

Ferocious!

Illustration Friday topic for the week of September 23rd is "ferocious", which is why I did the most ferocious motha in the sea, the plesiosaurus! "But Kris", you may ask, "what's all that red stuff he's swimmin' in?". Oh, you know, just the blood of baby mosasaurs!
This one came out really... festive!

Boundaries

Illustration Friday week of September 9th, the topic was "boundaries". Luna moths have some serious boundary issues.
Not terribly happy with how this turned out, but truth be told I did not spend a lot of time on it. Lots of colored pencils and one very dead pencil sharpener.

Mysterious

Illustration Friday week of September 2nd, the topic was "mysterious". Thinking I should have colored in the moon.
